Center for the Book Holiday Fair

The Graphic Arts Workshop will have a table at the San Francisco Center for the Book annual Holiday Fair, 300 De Haro Street in San Francisco.

Join us at the Center on Saturday, December 10 from 12-5 p.m. for drinks, snacks, mingling and to support the work of local Bay Area artisans. Enjoy a hearty holiday selection of hand-crafted stationery, letter-pressed goods, books, journals, prints and more!

The event will feature live music, delicious food, and the opportunity to browse our incredible selection of handmade goods.

Gail Morrison Insect Prints

For the month of December I will be showing a selection of my new, digital insect prints at Caffé Sapore in North Beach. These are similar to my Insect Monoprints, but have moved on a bit into the modern age. They begin with the same pen-and-ink drawings, but then I scan them into the computer, and use several software programs to add colorful abstract backgrounds, combining fractal imagery, photographs, and layers of textures and patterns to set off the crisp drawings of the insects.

Caffé Sapore is at 790 Lombard Street, just a block west of Columbus and not far from the bottom of the “crookedest street in the world” part of Lombard. It’s open from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily (415-474-1222).
